Eastern Outsource is an extention
of Monkami providing vocational training and supported employment
opportunities for adults with an intellectual disability, there is
something for everyone as far as work interests
go.
Garden
service operates a lawn mowing service
to private homes, unit sites as well as large commercial properties
in and around the local area. This service provides the opportunity
to work outside and travel around while acquiring skills in lawn
mowing, mower maintenance, money handling and customer
relations.
Production
team provides a reliable resource to
assist businesses within the community with their production
requirements. Contract work is an important part of our work
training program. We quote competitively in the following

- Collating &
mailing
Some of the training skills
developed in the production area are assembling, weighing,
packaging, collating and labelling while creating personal
initiative and responsibility in a working
environment.
Kindling
section cuts pine and hardwood to length,
which is then packaged and assembled into 5kg bags for retail
sale. A very popular commodity during the winter months for people
with open fires and wood heaters. The bags sell for $4.40 each
excluding GST.
Melbourne
Rags is a relatively new business
venture for Eastern Outsource. It supplies cleaning cloth to
various businesses. Suitable textiles need to be sourced for re-use
as clean, trimmed cleaning cloths which are then freighted all over
the state. The cleaning cloths are hand cut to remove all
decorations, trims and banding. There is a wide range of
applications and a variety of textiles to suit any purpose and
budget requirements. Bags of rags are sold in 10 kg compacted
blocks or by the 100 kg bale. Custom sizes are also available upon
request.

As well as providing
training in work skills Eastern Outsource can assist workers
by:
- Offering an employment
assistance plan to workers to identify areas of need and develop
work skills.
- Referral to alternative
agencies for specific needs eg: budgeting, independent travel
training, human relations courses and leisure
activities.
- Promoting the opportunity
for further education and training courses offered by
TAFE.
- Encouraging work experience
& placements for the workers in open employment via vocational
placement organizations.
To be eligible, applicants
must;
- Have a
disability
- Be willing to be trained in
a variety of work skills that Eastern Outsource
offers.
- Demonstrate skills to
perform duties as described in the job
description.
- Behave in a socially
appropriate manner at work
- Be willing to join in any
work assessment program.
- Be able to arrange
transport to & from work.
- Be willing to work up to 38
hours per week from 7 am - 5 pm
- Be eligible for a
Disability Support Pension.
- Be willing to work in a
team.
